The Iditarod is an annual race from Anchorage to Nome - over 1000 miles by dog sled. The ceremonial start is always in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, with a restart the following day in Nome. This year, the race was moved to start in Fairbanks, but the ceremony in Anchorage was unchanged.
